Featured Case

A year and 2 month old border collie presented with vomiting  The history was that she began vomiting 2 nights previously, not wanting to eat and seemed uncomfortable. The owner also noticed greater than normal stomach sounds, with no bowel movements. There was a history of the dog eating pistachio shells.

We proceeded with a physical exam and xrays, including a barium series.

The red circle shows the abnormal barium movement through the intestines. What could it be?

We proceded with surgery to locate the abnormality. The result was finding a foreign body, that was blocking the intestines.
